THE TIME IS NOW / Museums as agents of change
Thank you to everyone who joined us for THE TIME IS NOW / Museums as agents of change– the last in a series of UN75 dialogues presented in partnership with Culturunners and WCPUN and held during the world’s first virtual United Nations General Assembly.
Our own Molly Fannon was joined in conversation across multiple timezones by a remarkable and inspiring group of pioneering leaders in museum practice: George Okello Abungu (formerly of National Museums of Kenya), Bonita Bennett (formerly of District Six Museum, South Africa), Courtney Johnston (Te Papa, New Zealand), Frances Morris (Tate Modern, UK), Andrés Roldán (Parque Explora, Colombia) and Elizabeth Silkes (International Coalition of Sites of Conscience).
Over 90 minutes we heard extraordinary examples of how museums are becoming places of action, and how they are leading change with optimism and innovation. If you didn’t have a chance to join us live, there is a recording of the panel up on YouTube now – do let us know what you thought on social: #thetimeisnow.
